Waiting for the first serie of edit called "The Crazy World of Italo Italians" , including Dj Rocca, The Time and Space Machine and Fab Mayday, I decided to edit of one my favourites 60's tracks, a proper floorfiller: Shake by Shadows of night. I've been respectful of the original.
I've already tried on the dancefloor and it runs! Hope you like it. All feedbacks are welcome. 500 PLAYS - FREE DOWNLOAD!
Unhealthy would probably be the word to describe the amount of repeat listens we’ve already racked up on east Londoner-via-Berlin Adam Bainbridge’s solo project Kindness. Each of his songs (we’d recommend Cyan and SEOD) come over all soft and gooey on the inside, but with a beat terse enough that they almost present as something that could be directly played out at a party. Cosmic Kids come to the rescue in this respect with a minor edit that does wonders. We’re all very excited for the Kindness album due in the next few months, entirely because Adam practically harassed Phillipe Zdar to work with him on it.
Last Italo Italians' ep offers 2 visions of "Do we have a future": one is from Fab Mayday in an "acid soul" version; the second one is Fab Mayday vs Rush hour's maestro San Proper, simply a killer tune.
Day two and edit two of the '12 edits of Xmas' series and this ones a pure guilty pleasure perfect for the festive season.
A lot of people are familiar with the Glossy edit from a few years back but for me the 1977 original is a far funkier affair and just needed a little trim here and there to tame some of it's cheesier elements.
Enjoy. x

Philosophy of what? What do you get when you combine a master's degree in philosophy with a love of dance and electronic music production, and throw in a finalist position at the International Songwriting Competition not to mention a fascination with the latest forms of disco influenced sounds? A project called Philosophy Of Sound - expect to hear hot disco guitar licks, booty shaking bass and a selection of some of Melbourne's most intriguing vocalists.
Philosophy Of Sound is the musical brainchild of two Melbourne based producers - Martin K and John Salmon. John has an international background as a DJ and producer.
Over the last few years both have been working in close collaboration with various electronic and dance labels and artists, which has led to many remixes and releases on several labels in both Australia and Europe.
"It Is Like That" is Philosophy Of Sound debut single and is part of a three releases plan that Discotexas will unveil in the following months. They've been a secret well hidden, but they are no more. Cause... "It Is Like That" Released by: Discotexas
