Nassau - Chillin' balearic zibaldone [mixtape]

Nassau is a side project of a thin old italian man - a so called disc jockey since 1984 - happy to return in a quiet 'rotation per minute way' after years of 130's slots; a sort of homecoming to late 70es/early 80es when we driven at 120 while radio stations and early discos played everything from Greg Kihn Band to Chic, early Simple Minds together with Monsoon and Skatt Brothers, Ian Dury, F.lli La Bionda and Kiss. Nassau was heartbroken by Hacienda and Cosmic Disco, and has no relationship with fluo stuff and rush hours.
Nassau goes slowly, as when the sun goes down or the tide comes high. A mystical project where Salsa, Balearic Disco, Ambient, Tropicalism, Cosmic Music, Tablas, Trance and Afro Beat collides.
Here a fresh and eclectic mixtape. Ready for the summer????

A.N.D.Y. & Vicente - Traffic

As a kid A.N.D.Y. a.k.a. Andy Faisca didn’t have to think what he would like to be when he grew up... Music was and is the answer!
From a very early age this multi-instrumentalist was writing and making his own music. With a background of 70’s and 80’s disco, pop, hip hop and rock music Andy is a fanatic of all things past, turning them into music for the future. His love for the past is reflected in an almost religious use of old analogue gear, but also a general love for vintage stuff. At age 17 Andy discovered electronic music and started DJ’ing. He soon landed a residency at Brussels’ infamous Libertine Supersport club and his quest for a vintage personal sound hasn’t stopped since.
His first project called Mustang was born in 2009 with a debut E.P. on Gomma Recordings called ‘Chameleon Circus’. Prestigious remix assignments soon followed for Vitalic, Poni Hoax, Monarchy and many others. Recently he released the killer single ‘Shooting Love’ on Different Recordings, which has been remixed by Canadian house sensation Jeremy Glenn and by Black Strobe. Beginning of this year, he decided to start his proper solo project under his own name A.N.D.Y.
After remixes for Jupiter, The Supermen Lovers and Philosophy of Sound, A.N.D.Y. teamed with new producer Vicente for the recording of his debut single "Traffic". The Supermen Lovers and Jay Lamar & Jesse Oliver were called in and delivered awesome remixes.

Brioski - Last Day Here EP

As a follow up to the last years “Radio Anatomy” we're excited to present the ‘Last Day Here EP' by Brioski. It's a stellar effort from the talented Italian and we're all feeling that he's really come into his own with this one.
Brioski's inspiration spans Hiphop, Funk, Soul, Disco, Chicago House & Techno, edging towards Balearic / psychedelic atmospheres with deep percussive roots and old-school tendencies. Combine this with some Italian originality and a love for vintage gear and you're halfway there.
On title track 'Last Day Here,' the BPM is reined in, the grooves are smooth and the vibe is cool, collected and carried out with focus and intent. It features sultry vocals from Andrea Noce and layers or hazy analog synth over thumping electric bass guitar.
On the remix duty we head to the UK for the Lusty Zanzibar who goes for the nu-disco synth jugular. Two Russian producers also feature on this six track release. Sportloto takes a trip back to the 80’s with his Juno remix, very 1987.
Unclepasha, the king of overloading influences (but somehow making them all work) is next with his big re-rub. Bass slides, tinker piano, overloaded reverbs.. they are all there. Finally back to the UK with a dark, housey and very cool Demi remix.
Stay tuned for Brioskis debut album later on in the year from Nang Towers.

Remain - The Beast With Two Backs

CLOUDED 008 –Remain – The Beast With Two Backs EP
Track list:
1. The Beast With Two Backs (Original)
2. The Beast With Two Backs (Lukas (UK) Remix)
3. The Beast With Two Backs (Franz Underwear Remix)
4. The Beast With Two Backs (DC Salas Remix)
Composed & arranged by Romain Rouffiac, 2012, All Rights Reserved.
An early summer of 2012 release from the owner of Parisian label, MEANT.
Remain has become a close friend of mine since I discovered his work on his label about two years ago. He has more recently appeared on Throne of Blood, My Favorite Robot and soon to be Ideal Audio.
The Beast has the now distinctive sound of Clouded Vision, a track that is hard to put into a genre on Beatport, a slow, sex-disco track with the repeating vocal “Test”.
Remixes come firstly from Bristol’s Lukas, one of the main artists from the ultra hyped Futureboogie. His version of production partner Christophe’s “The Force” became one of my Top 10 most played records of last year, so I was desperate to get him on the label. It’s the most clear-cut house record of the mixes, but still with an edge to it that I love about his work.
Secondly owner of Italy’s “Slow Motion Records” Franz Underwear lays down a driving analogue disco groove on The Beast. Franz’s track on World Unknown last year titled Grauzone was another of my festival favourites and I was honoured when he agreed to do the mix.
Lastly is my tip for 2013, Belgian youngster DC Salas. He is also one half of Polar, who earlier this year released an excellent EP on Tim Paris’s Marketing Music. His mix has a relentless bass line and reverb-riddled breakdown that comes back to get you not just once, but twice. It has been a staple late night track for me over the last few months alongside his excellent “Gimme” on Petfood. Watch out for more original material from him on CV later in the year.
Matt Walsh.

Avanti - Parallel Universe

Gazeebo International is pleased to welcome Daniel Quiroz & Gabriel Eugenio or better known as Avanti to the label. We first got turned onto this hi-fi Mexican duo last year and they immediately caught our attention with there razor sharp cosmic output. Several months ago we received a demo from them and if we said we were impressed we'd be lying, we were blown away. They really understood our sound and we immediately invited them to come aboard. Avanti expressed to us how much they enjoyed the Gazeebo "Made In Mars" LP and after hearing they're demo we knew that this was going to be an exciting collaboration. They're unique brand of cosmic dance music has not only inspired us but it has also allowed us to see a sharper more refined look at what Made In Mars represents.
"Night Flight" is a blast off into the future of space disco and serves as just a glimpse of what Avanti has in store for this scene. They're approach to music production is not conventional nor it is easily replicable, we know this sound well and we know what it takes to produce it. It can take weeks of reworking cutoff sweeps, arp & bass sequences and delay time signatures over and over till it sounds good. And it's clearly obvious that Avanti takes the time to do it right. "Night Flight" comes correct with 4 original tunes from the duo, all worthy of favoritism and a bonus remix from Gazeebo himself to round out the EP.
Almost unnoticed these two young Mexican producers have been gathering quite the disco and house repertoire. It only took a remix with Bottin for Beppe Loda on Nang Records for the world to take notice and embrace their funky cosmic disco. Not long after, label head & disco don Ilya Santana released their Avanti EP with his own Santa Esperanza Records. Avanti's love for music slaves them to their machines and their output is as fierce and prolific as you would expect from the best. You'd be wise to keep a watchful eye on their live dates as well as releases on Pizzico Records & Santa Esperanza, all set for early 2012. More collaborations with Gazeebo and Avanti are already underway so we'll keep you posted on those.
"Night Flight" is scheduled for release on March 8th 2012 exclusively at Juno Download, Traxsource and Beatport.

Kindness - Gee Up

Unhealthy would probably be the word to describe the amount of repeat listens we’ve already racked up on east Londoner-via-Berlin Adam Bainbridge’s solo project Kindness. Each of his songs (we’d recommend Cyan and SEOD) come over all soft and gooey on the inside, but with a beat terse enough that they almost present as something that could be directly played out at a party. Cosmic Kids come to the rescue in this respect with a minor edit that does wonders. We’re all very excited for the Kindness album due in the next few months, entirely because Adam practically harassed Phillipe Zdar to work with him on it.

Cadillac - Too Long (Daft Punk Cover)

For a free download of the track head here - http://emailunlock.com/futureclassic/cadillac-too-long-daft-punk
Le Coq Sportif and Future Classic are back with their series of Australian covers of classic French artists.
The third instalment in the series is Melbourne/Sydney band Cadillac doing their take on Daft Punk's seminal early naughties house number "Too Long".
Daft Punk are one of dance music's most influential acts. Their 3 timeless albums - Homework, Discovery and Human After All - spawned classic tracks including "One More Time", "Da Funk", "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", "Around the World" and "Something About Us" that are considered a huge contributor to the formation of French and filter house scenes and have gone on to shape where dance music is today.
Cadillac's cover of "Too Long" pulls the tempo down, brings out the tropical mallets, brings the same catchy bass line's and crooning vocals that you remember from the original.
Feel free to pass around to friends!

DJ ROCCA "A KEBABI EXPERIENCE"

Mary Epworth - Black Doe (Small Pyramids Remix)

Mr. Beatnick, Sun Goddess

Taking inspiration from classic rare groove Boogie and Detroit House, the dangerously underrated London tunesmith, Mr Beatnick, drops his most impressive 12" to date. Picking up from the deepest strains of last years 'Synthetes' ace (one of Fact Mag's top 50 tracks of the year), he delivers dusted Rhodes and warmest, Theo P-esque strings and bassline on 'Sun Goddess', beside the Kassem Mosse-gone-Balearic vibes of 'Beneath The Reef'.

TRZTN - The Seed

TRZTN is a NYC based underground musician and artist. He founded the sonic mayhem band Flux Information Sciences (released on Michael Gira's Young God Records) and then SERVICES (A Touch of Class records) with their proto electro-rock sample-driven math-machine music. He has collaborated with Karen O for Spike Jonze's "Where The Wild Things Are" soundtrack, and Karl Lagerfeld on his "New Mix" re-branding campaign. He re-mixed industrial pioneer Foetus, re-imagined David Bowie's "Life on Mars" as part of a world-travelling art installation, produced noise-wizards The Melted Men, and produced countless other idiosyncratic projects calling forth challenging high-concept music. Along his personal musical output he is the go-to musician and producer for forward-thinking directors and art and fashion brands in NYC. The Seed spawned from a recording session in a secret studio (Ski-Hut) from the depths of Amsterdam. A pop disco song in the classic sense, The Seed alludes to existential anxiety and desire. Musicians include Chris Pravdica on bass (SWANS, SERVICES) and Hervé Bouétard on drums (BERTRAND BURGALAT, ALPHA BLONDY). Engineered by P-Air. Zero Cash (Kitsuné / No Brainer / Flexidisco) produced the track, additional synths and delivered a squeezy remix. ALIEN ALIEN (Roccodisco / Slowmotion) added some Voodoo-esque flavor to their rework. Rodion & Hugo Sanchez also just remixed Ajello with great results and are also responsible for the still-doing-the-job 'Sambaca' - pure class. The original track is accompanied by a new video, directed by TRZTN that will also debut in March.

Blende March 2012 - Edits Edition

Blende March 2012 - Edits Edition by blende

This March mix is slightly different to my previous monthly mixes. Instead of putting promos & new tracks on it I've gone completely retro. 10 tracks I've edited, retweaked, shuffled, beefed up and somewhat ruined for you all to enjoy. Some of these I've made for myself for when I play out in clubs and some of them just specially for this mix. A mix of disco, soul, pop and italo tunes from the 70s and 80s; some well known ones, a couple of more obscure tracks and also one or two slightly guilty pleasures, but all updated and modernised for the future. Which is now. not now, but......
now!
Blog it, stream it, compare it to the original song versions, download it for your iPod or play it to your friends..
Also, as a bonus I'll be sharing a series of selected tracks from this mix and other edits I've done in the near future, so keep tuning in for those on www.facebook.com/blende
